Here is a summary of information about our rates, delivery time, terminology and file formats.
Rates
Our rates are calculated according to the size and difficulty level of the text. As a rule, translations are charged on a per word basis. Proofreading and language vetting are charged on an hourly basis as the number of words alone does not necessarily determine the scope of such assignments. In the case of express assignments, a supplementary fee will be charged. Also, new clients will receive an attractive introductory discount.
Delivery time
We always strive to fulfil our clients’ requirements regarding deadlines. Texts up to 1,000 words will usually be delivered in the course of 1–2 working days. For larger assignments, we would expect to complete around 1,500 words per day.
Terminology
The translator we select for the assignment will have a thorough knowledge of client terminology and will also use the client’s website for reference purposes. In addition, we can incorporate specific terminology into the text from other sources, such as a list of terms or a previous translation.
File formats
We translate in several different formats. MS Word is the most common and effective format although we also process files in Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign, FrameMaker and QuarkXpress. Additionally, proofreading can be undertaken directly in PDF, if required.
