Translation means that the source text is translated directly into the target language. The emphasis will be on maintaining the structure and form of the text. However, the text will always be tailored to your specific requirements. A copy translation is specially customised to suit the market towards which the text is aimed. Legal, cultural and sociological factors are taken into account and the text is re-written where necessary. For example, advertising copy will always fall into this category. Proofreading involves correction of spelling, punctuation and grammar. In addition, the language is adjusted to make it as consistent as possible. This is the best solution if you are basically satisfied with the text but wish to ‘weed out’ any small errors. Language vetting involves an extended proofread that also aims to improve the language. The text is amended with regard to word choice, syntax and structure. A text that has been language vetted will communicate your message concisely and professionally. Spelling, punctuation and grammar are scrutinised. The overall layout is checked. We read all the normal file formats; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, Photoshop, Illustrator, sound and video files, etc. In addition to sending jobs via e-mail, we also have experience in uploading directly to an EPiServer. Copy translation, proofreading and language vetting are charged per hour, or part thereof, as the number of words alone does not determine the size of such jobs.
